Pastor Charles Harvey’s journey is rooted in faith, family, and a deep commitment to restoring lives through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. His story begins in 2000, the year he married and began building the family foundation that would later strengthen his ministry and passion for serving others.
In 2008, Pastor Harvey was ordained under Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc., under the leadership of Bishop Sherman Watkins. This moment marked the beginning of a calling that would define his life—one centered on teaching, discipleship, and community transformation. Known for his clear, practical, and Bible-based teaching style, Pastor Harvey quickly became recognized as a teaching pastor who helps people understand Scripture in a way they can live out daily.
That same year, he founded Christ Empowerment Center, a ministry committed to spiritual growth, authentic fellowship, and empowering individuals through the Word of God. As the mission expanded and the community grew, the church transitioned in 2012 to its current identity as Power For Change Community Church—a Christ-centered, family-focused ministry built on teaching, fellowship, and genuine community.
Pastor Harvey’s heart for outreach has always been at the core of his calling. Burdened for those seeking a second chance, he launched “Round 2,” a program designed to help individuals recently released from prison rebuild their lives through job opportunities, mentorship, and fresh hope. His compassion also led him to establish a prison ministry, where he has faithfully taught, encouraged, and restored men and women behind the walls.
